Executive Function
Special for my paid subscribers
I have a constant theme of productivity running through my cartoons/comics. It’s not hard to see why: we (as academics, and a research scientist) are judged, evaluated, and paid on our productivity (as it is with pretty much any other job too). Because we have a lot of freedom the productivity and executive function is maybe more important. I’m essentially a free agent at my job, I need to set my own agenda, meet my own deadlines, prioritize what I need to do for the day, week, month, my career, the lifespan of the universe, and on and on. Of course, all of these things are driven by external project, collaborative, and organizational pressures and deadlines - but the need to self organize is strong. Anyway - I just drew this comic (my first new one in a little while) and thought I’d give a retrospective of my ‘ToDo list’ cartoons and comics. I think I’ve done this before - but for all of you new subscribers here is the tour again!
Thanks for being a subscriber. I really appreciate it and hope to be putting out a lot more content in the coming year (and month. and week. and day. and hour…)
[what follows is the equivalent of a sitcom episode where one of the characters says something like ‘remember the time when…’ then they just play clips from old episodes for the remainder of the time. But here ya go anyway…]
